CAD Technician

HSM has an opportunity for a CAD/Nesting Tech to work in the Manufacturing Systems at our New Castle, IN facility. HSM fabricates foam and fiber products through CNC machining. The CAD/Nesting Tech will support daily manufacturing production by developing programs that run on CNC machines. This position will work closely with diverse operations and engineering teams to promote quality manufacturing while maximizing material utilization.

We likely have manufactured something you use every day like sofa or bed springs, pool noodles, recliner mechanisms, packaging supplies, fabricated sofa cushions, bus seats, and much more.

• Create and distribute nest programs for CNC machines
• Read and modify 2D CAD drawings
• Communicate with Machine Operators, Operations leaders, Quality Technicians, and Engineers regarding best practices and job responsibilities
• Maintain key product data accuracy
• Assess nests for efficiency and manufacturability
• Other duties as assigned by management

• 2 years similar experience, preferred
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented individual
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Experience with a CAD modelling software (e.g. AutoCAD)
• Excellent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• The ability to work well under pressure and with deadlines
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
