Who We Are

PTI, LLC is seeking a motivated Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering student for an Engineering Internship in Hickory, NC. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to develop, implement, and participate in continuous improvement projects that enhance efficiency, optimize production, and drive lean manufacturing initiatives.

 

Interns will work alongside experienced engineers on meaningful projects, applying their academic knowledge to real-world challenges in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Lead the creation and execution of lean manufacturing initiatives to optimize production processes.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify inefficiencies and provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership to support data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and MiniTab, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA required.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Green Card Holder (due to government contracts).
  • Ability to work on-site in Hickory, NC during the internship period.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, teamwork mindset, and creativity in tackling engineering challenges.
