Overview

Plans, directs, and coordinates the operations of a specific location in the organization. Manages utilization of equipment, facilities, and personnel to obtain maximum efficiency and meet performance objectives. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources is needed.

Responsibilities

  • Controls significant manufacturing projects, plans and schedules facility assignments, and sets priorities
  • Identifies opportunities that best utilize the location’s infrastructure and meet customer requirements
  • Supports Sales and cross-functional teams to proactively develop product and service solutions
  • Prepares budgets for approval, including those for funding and implementation of programs
  • Resolves problems by adjusting priorities, schedules and reassignment of workforce when necessary
  • Ensures sufficient capacity is available within the location to carry out the objectives and delivery of products
  • Reviews internal and external reporting
  • Directs and coordinates the location’s budget activities in order to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency
  • Evaluate performance of the location and its staff in meeting objectives, and to determine areas of potential cost reduction or program improvement
  • Participates and encourages participation in the Continuous Quality Improvement process
  • Knows and understands company policies

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the Business Management process required
  • Must possess thorough knowledge of product and production processes
  • Must have highly developed personal skills
  • Must be of an analytical mindset and be able to quickly assess large amounts of information and data
  • Proven ability to work with cross functional teams and in a project management environment required
  • Must possess all other qualities critical for managerial success including leadership, self-confidence, motivation, decisiveness, flexibility, sound business judgment, and determination
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products
  • Possess skills to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
  • Possess the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Able to monitor/ assess performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action
  • Can identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Good oral comprehension and expression, able to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences and the ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand
  • Possess deductive reasoning, able to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
  • Have the ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions. Above average ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly
  • Have an above average ability to come up with unusual or clever ideas about a given topic or situation, or to develop creative ways to solve a problem
  • Frequently required to stand and walk
  • Able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
  • Able to reach with hands and arms
  • Able to talk and hear
  • Able to lift and/or move 50 pounds
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock
  • Frequently exposed to airborne particles; extreme cold; extreme heat.
