Overview

Hickory Springs has a current and immediate opening for an Account Manager in our Midwest region, which will service customers primarily in southern IN, KY, TN and adjacent states. The Account Manager will execute all sales programs, promotions and growth initiatives within his/her area as directed by the VP of Sales – Foam Fab, for Hickory Springs. This position requires selling, prospecting new accounts, retaining existing accounts, and other necessary support services for both current and new territories.

HSM specializes through its subsidiaries, in the manufacturing of components for furniture, bedding, transportation, packaging, automotive, and healthcare industries. We also design and construct automated production machinery for these industries. Responsibilities

  • Actively creates and works customer leads to grow product sales regionally
  • Solicits customer orders by phone, email or through regional travel
  • Displays or demonstrates products, using samples or presentations, emphasizing product features and benefits
  • Negotiates pricing and credit terms as directed by management
  • Assists operations in coordinating customer delivery dates, according to production schedules and customer expectations
  • Prepares and maintains expense reports weekly, including customer entertainment and travel expenses
  • Provides technical and repair assistance to customers as needed
  • Maintains accurate price schedules and customer product list
  • Develop business relationship with numerous key staff members at each customer

Critical Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective distribution of goods.
  • Proper use of MS Office suite programs.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing related sales position OR 5+ years of operational management experience including sales management and oversight of sales responsibilities – the ideal candidate will have OEM home furnishings experience.
  • Must have valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Must be able to travel to visit customers and HS facilities. Overnight stay may be required
  • A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent (BS in business, marketing or related is ideal)

Pay Range

USD $85,000.00 - USD $95,000.00 /Yr.
