Machine Operator- 2nd Shift

In 1944, Hickory Springs Manufacturing (HSM) started a small production of furniture springs in Hickory, NC. We are a leading supplier of diversified components for the bedding, furniture, and GSA industries. We also produce polyester fiber batting, formed steel wire, flexible polyurethane foam fabrication. Hickory Springs, continues to extend its original product lines to include sleeper mechanisms, adjustable bed bases, roll packed mattresses and fabric encased micro coils. • Report to the lead person to determine what needs to be slit at the beginning of each shift.
• Check all tags and measure each Master Roll before cutting to determine correct size.
• After cutting or slicing, re-measure to ensure proper size according to the ticket.
• Change blades as needed (proper gloves required)
• Load and unload the machine.
• Bagging and tagging the material after it is slit/cut.
• If placing Master Rolls back, make sure they are properly wrapped and tagged
• Maintain good housekeeping practices.
• Practice good safety techniques.

• Must have excellent attendance and work record.
• Must have good communication skills.
• Must be able to read a tape measure.
• Must be able to pull, and lift spreads of fabric.
• Must be able to read, write, and complete production sheets after each order.
• Must be able to work overtime if needed.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs
• Prior Slitter/CNC experience preferred.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills are preferred.
• Must be able to perform other duties as deemed necessary by management.
